The Store can now issue loyalty cards to customers on the spot
Story 13

MALAYSIA’S department-store chain, The Store, can now issue its loyalty cards to customers on the spot. The retailer has invested in the Zebra P310, a fast and user-friendly card printer that produces personalised plastic cards instantly.

So, instead of waiting for weeks to receive their cards, members of its loyalty scheme, launched in 2005, will be able to get their membership cards almost immediately upon application.

By implementing the Zebra P310, The Store, which prints abour 500,000 cards yearly, no longer needs to outsource its card production. Not only will there be no delay in issuing cards. any printing errors on the cards can also be immediately rectified. The printer is both quiet and space-saving.

Intermec IF5 has had a successful deployment in Germany’s Metro AG and is now available in Asia.

Loyalty-card holders receive points when they make purchases at The Store outlets and Pacifc hypermarkets nationwide. These points can be redeemed for a selection of gifts, special offers and discounts, and even provide members with personal insurance coverage.

Another Malaysian retail group, Aeon Co (M) Bhd, formerly known as Jaya Jusco Stores Bhd, also offers its shoppers loyalty cards on the spot.
