SINGAPORE company Lend Lease Retail is positioning its Somerset Central project as a sustainable retail development. In a statement, Lend Lease said that the retail project, which has been awarded Singapore’s Green Mark Platinum from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), has been designed to consume 30% less energy compared to code compliant buildings.

The project, which has the working name 313@Somerset, also generates renewable energy
for carpark operations and recovers waste heat for use within the centre, among others, the company added.
