President Chain Store Corp, Taiwan In 1978, President Chain Store Corp (PCSC) was established by President Enterprises Corp (PEC) to introduce clean, spacious and bright 7-Eleven stores into Taiwan, igniting the country’s retail industry revolution. After seven challenging years, PCSC finally turned loss into gain. With aggressive store development and innovative marketing strategies, it has continued to solidify its leadership position in the Taiwanese retail industry. In 2005, 7-Eleven reached the milestone of 4,000 stores. 7-Eleven stores are connected by an extensive network, forming a highly effective W e b - b a s e d platform that engages an indispensable part of consumers’ daily life.
7-Eleven excels at identifying the potential needs of consumers. Based on the core concept of convenience, 7-Eleven is the market creator of 24-hour shopping, bill collection services, ATM, fresh-food services, pre-order and proprietary brands. All products and services manifest 7-Eleven’s strength in product excellence and creating new market trends. Consumers can easily get access to any convenient service in any 7-Eleven store near their home, such as purchasing local specialties, paying utility bills, withdrawing cash from ATM machines, making photocopies, sending faxes, making color prints, and developing photos. The 24-hour operations have become our most acclaimed service that enable consumers to pay various bills at any 7-Eleven store. Each consumer, on average, pays seven bills a year at 7-Eleven. In 2000, the group stepped into the international arena with President Starbucks Coffee in Shanghai, 7-Eleven in the Philippines, T&T Supermarket in Canada, and pcsc Supermarket Ltd in Vietnam. It also started President Cosmed Chain Store in Shenzhen and opened hypermarkets in Shandong and Sichuan. Within the past decade, President Chain Store also grew through its vertical investments.
