Harvey Nichols boosts MAP’s status as retail powerhouse in Indonesia
Story 6 - News

UK-BASED luxury-lifestyle store Harvey Nichols has set up shop in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 9,500sqm store, located at the East Mall of Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, is managed by PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP), a local lifestyle retailer.

“We are delighted to open Harvey Nichols in Jakarta. We always endeavour to bring the best brands to Jakarta and strengthen its image as a premier global destination for shopping and tourism.

“It is our vision to continue to provide the premier lifestyle brands and quality products in Indonesia and our partnership with Harvey Nichols Group helps to further promote our standing as a retail powerhouse,” said Alan Thomson, director of MAP.

Designed by US-based Callison, the Jakarta store embraces the boutique format and incorporates the parang form, a royal motif based on the movement of the sea wave, with British pop art “to create a diorama of intrigue and discovery”.

The store brings in international menswear brands, including Alexander McQueen, Armani Collezioni, Costume National, DSquared2, Moschino, Jil Sander, Maison Martin Margiela, Paul Smith and Thomas Pink as well as contemporary labels such as 7 For All Mankind, Diesel Denim Gallery, True Religion, Rock & Republic, Richmond and Tommy Hilfiger. It also carries luxury brands for beauty and cosmetics, shoes, women’s wear and handbags.
