Asia’s largest beachfront mall opens in Pattaya
Story 9 - Property Update

THAILAND is now home to the largest beachfront shopping mall in Asia following the opening of the new CentralFestival Pattaya Beach Mall in January this year.

Owned by one of the country’s leading property developer, Central Pattana Public Co Ltd, the property arm of Central Group, the seven-billion baht (US$197.5 million) mall has a gross retail area of 220,000sqm housing over 200 shops, along with a 23,110sqm Central Department store and a 3,000sqm Central Food Hall.

Benoy, the architect of the mall, said CentralFestival Pattaya features eight levels of retailing divided into entertainment, fashion and lifestyle zones, in a “light and airy contemporary feel” that complements the beach along which the mall is built.

Said Peter McCaffery, project director at Benoy: “The opening of CentralFestival is an extremely exciting milestone for Benoy; we are proud to celebrate the completion of our first project in South-east Asia. CentralFestival further demonstrates our continuing commitment to designing and delivering commercially successful destinations around the world.”

Visitors to the mall can enjoy international cuisine at various F&B outlets including a 1,571sqm Food Loft, a nine-screen cinema and an 18-lane bowling alley. They can also relax at a public plaza and dine alfresco at one of the many bar and restaurant pavilions and terraces, while local and international acts perform in an event space on the plaza.
