Key real-estate players at ICSC summit a sign of confidence revival in Asia
Story 3 - Preview

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) will host its fourth annual regional convention and exhibition in Singapore next month. ICSC Asia Expo 2009 will take place at Suntec Singapore from October 14-16.

The three-day conference will bring together developers, mall managers and retailers from around the world to explore global trends and opportunities from their different perspectives, said ICSC.

Some of the region’s biggest and most dynamic retail-property developers and investors will be present, among them Ayala Land, DLF Retail Developers, CapitaLand and Sands Retail Asia.

Said Tan Guan Heng, director of ICSC Asia Pacific: “These are all hugely significant players, and the fact that they’re participating as Asia strives to get past the recession says volumes about how Asia is regaining its confidence.”

As retailers clamp down on expansion and marketing efforts to stay afloat in the current financial tsunami, they are looking for ways to engage their tenants and help them achieve maximum profitability. To find out how, attend the session Tenant Engagement Strategy on Friday, October 16 to hear how Singapore’s CapitaLand, Australiabased Lend Lease and regional retaildevelopment and management-service provider Sandalwood engage in retail partnerships, connectivity and other relevant programmes.
