FHA2010 – on track to break new records
Story 3 - Preview

The Asia-Pacific’s most influential food and hospitality industry players will be converging in Singapore from April 20-23 for the region’s foremost food and hospitality business event — Food&HotelAsia 2010 (FHA2010), which is the 17th International Food & Drinks, Hotel, Restaurant, Bakery & Food-service Equipment, Supplies & Services Exhibition and Conference.

Open to trade visitors only, the mega event will feature some 2,800 exhibitors from 70 countries and regions, bringing some of the latest and most innovative products and solutions from across
the world to Asia’s dynamic and fastgrowing food and hospitality markets.

Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), the show’s organiser, is confident that FHA will return for a stronger showing as the food and hospitality industries in Asia rebound from one of the most debilitating global financial crisis in recent history. SES maintains that FHA2010 will be bigger and an
even more comprehensive show than ever before.

The consolidation of the event reflects the optimism in the Asian economy, particularly in its food, hospitality and travel industries, the organiser adds.

The Asia-Pacific international arrival numbers are expected to see a healthy 4%-5% growth between 2009 and 2011, with the main expansion occurring from 2010 onwards, according to the Pacific
Asia Travel Association 2009-2011 Tourism Forecasts.

New trade opportunities are surfacing as emergent countries from Asia further open their doors to foreign trade activities, while lower airfares brought on by the emergence of budget carriers
have boosted demand for travel and hotels in the region.

The forecast for Asia’s food-service industry looks bright, as consumers become increasingly affluent and exposed beyond their cultural borders.

Food-service companies are revising their services in order to meet growing demands arising from changing consumer habits. Recognising this, global players continue to press ahead with major expansion plans across Asia.
