The Body Shop to open 45 stores in India

GLOBAL retailer of beauty and cosmetics products The Body Shop said it was looking into expanding its presence in India.

The company is planning to open an additional 45 stores by 2008, local media reported. It currently operates five Body Shop stores in the country — two in Delhi and one each in Gurgaon, Jaipur and Mumbai — and will target second-tier cities, said Vipul Shah, manager of operations at Quest Retail, The Body Shop’s franchise partner in India.
