Order bento meals online
Story 14

LOVERS of Japanese food in Singapore can now order their favourite bento meal online.

To cater to the growing demand for its box lunches, Himawari Food Pte Ltd, the owner of Himawari Japanese Restaurant, has launched an online bento ordering system, BentoOnline @ www.bento.com.sg, and introduced its home-delivery service, BentoOnCall, last month.

“Since the opening of Himawari Japanese Restaurant at SAFRA Mount Faber at Telok Blangah three years ago, we have frequent feedback from the regular customers that we should be offering bento-delivery service,” said Dennis Tan, partner and managing director of Himawari Food.

The company has since opened a second restaurant, and Tan and his partner, master chef Yoichi Nakaoka, have decided to launch the online and on-call delivery service to leverage the two existing kitchens.

“To ease the ordering process for the customer and to increase the overall efficiency of our operations, we have selected online payment via ChainFusion’s BuyButtonz.com. BuyButtonz is an online payment service which allows us to accept credit cards as well as Internet banking,” said Nakaoka.
