Coach makes Jakarta debut in premier location
Story 1

NEW YORK-BASED Coach, USA, a leading marketer of modern classic American accessories, has opened its first boutique in Jakarta, Indonesia. The store, with a retail space of 2,150sqf, is located at Plaza Senayan, one of the city’s most prominent shopping centres.

Said Ian Bickley, president of Coach International: “The opening of our first premiere location in Indonesia is an important step for us in further developing, implementing and executing our global development strategy and raising brand awareness in this emerging market for luxury accessories. We expect that this store will enhance our positioning and attract new consumers to the Coach franchise.”

The store was designed by the Coach Architecture Group under the direction of Reed Krakoff, president and executive creative director of Coach. The new store features Coach’s premier product assortment, including handbags, small leather goods, footwear, sunwear, watches, travel accessories and gifts.

Founded as a family-run workshop in a Manhattan loft more than 65 years ago, Coach has grown into a global business with over 240 stores in the US and over 200 international locations, including stores operated by the Valiram Group in Singapore, Malaysia and, now, Indonesia.
