Epson centre in Singapore heralds more for Asia Story 8
SEIKO EPSON CORPORATIONS(SEC) Singapore subsidiary, Epson Singapore Pte Ltd, has set up a solution centre in the heart of Singapores Orchard Road. Established in June as the first such centre in South and Southeast Asia, it heralds the entry of six other solution centres to the region.
Speaking at the launch of the Epson Solution Centre, located at Wheelock Place, Orchard Road, Kiyofumi Koike, Epsons COO of business products division for SEC, cited Singapores role as regional headquarters as the impetus for the companys decision to establish its first such centre here in the citystate.
He added that the region remains an important contributor to SECs revenue. Over the next three years, the company intends to speed up its share in the business and corporate market, and invest up to S$100 million (US$66.3 million).
SEC will also continue to focus its IT equipment and solutions to the growing market of small-medium enterprises(SMEs) as well as small-office-homeoffice(SOHO) market segments. Optimistic on the outlook of the industry, Hisashi Shimizu, managing director for Epson Singapore, pointed out that the stages of maturity in the regional markets offer tremendous opportunities for the companys diverse range of business products.
Koike also reiterated the high-pace growth in emerging markets throughout the region, and anticipated a 10% growth in its business products sector by this financial year-end. Last year, the business products sector contributed 33% to the companys sales revenue of S$700 million.
