South-east Asian concept restaurant opens in Japan
Story 8

SINGAPORE-BASED F&B company OB International Pte Ltd has opened its first-of-a-kind concept restaurant in Japan. Franchised to leading Japanese F&B company Port Japan Partners Inc, the restaurant features signature dishes from across South-east Asia.

Designed to reflect the historical architecture in Singapore, Raffles Terrace, as the restaurant is called, embraces a modern and casual ambience, fashioned after ‘thesimplelife’, another of the group’s restaurant.

The Raffles Terrace offers authentic Singaporean, Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian fare for lunch and dinner, including a high-tea set featuring scones, cakes and dim sum, said Ricky Chew, managing director of OB International.

Premium Japanese tea and imported Australian wine are served to complement the dishes.

Both groups operate an extensive portfolio of restaurants in their respective countries.

OB International runs the popular Fish & Co chain; Pret A Manger, a UK sandwich specialist; and thesimplelife, featuring popular local dishes from around the region, while Port Japan owns the Arossa and Salt of Australian wine and cuisine restaurants; Tucano’s, a Brazilian Churrasco; Manuel, which serves Portuguese cuisine and wine; and Hinokiya, known for its charcoal-grilled Japanese delicacies.
