ION Orchard unveils six superbrand tenants
Story 6

SINGAPORE’S ION Orchard, a premier retail development managed by Orchard Turn Developments Pte Ltd, unveiled its six international superbrand tenants early this month. Fashion superbrands Cartier, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton and Prada will each set up its flagship 11m-high and 50,000sqf duplex outlet along the frontage of the mall.

Calling the six “fashion icons”, Soon Su Lin, Orchard Turn Developments Pte Ltd’s CEO, sees them: “For ... them to represent the first tenant signings is a significant milestone for our mall. Having them ... will provide an even more compelling factor for other fashion and lifestyle brands to establish their concept and flagship stores in ION Orchard.”

Soon said: “[They] are leaders not just in their own right, but also in their approach to retailing and design.” The units will have individual facades lining the front of the mall, with the design inside of each unit kept in line with the brand’s distinctive features.

Shoppers will not only be introduced to the fashion brands’ full collections and limited editions, but will also be the first in the region to preview new collections that they release.

Soon enthused: “This is very exciting news not only for ION Orchard, but also for the industry. The concept of housing the world’s top luxury superbrands in our duplex flagship units perfectly fits our vision of bringing together the best-loved brands under one roof with ... innovative retail concepts.”

In addition, Soon declared, their vision to create a world-class retail and lifestyle destination at the mall is in line with the Singapore government’s overall plans for Orchard Road’s rejuvenation.

“Our unique building facade, which, in addition to the beautiful duplex shop facades, will feature a combination of art, technology and entertainment, and will be well integrated with the proposed
enhanced pedestrian mall with interesting urban green rooms to create a lively streetscape for the enjoyment of shoppers and tourists,” Soon pointed out.

The retail tenants will also have access to ION Sky, a double-storey observation deck located on the 55th and 56th floors which offers a stunning venue for tenants’ events and
runway shows.”

ION Orchard is scheduled to complete by year-end, and will open for business by spring 2009.
