Mall to boost East Malaysia’s retail scene
Story 12

THE Boulevard Shopping Mall, a 520,000sqf lifestyle complex that opened last December in Sarawak, promises more retail space for the East Malaysian state upon completion of Phase Two
come this year-end.

Managed by Boulevard Group of Companies, the investment arm of Malaysian business conglomerate Shin Yang Sdn Bhd, the project saw about RM100 million (US$30.9 million) invested
in Phase One, the group revealed.

Boulevard Group CEO Don Yew Hoon said that the mall will house about 230 speciality retailers and over 20 F&B outlets, including Kenny Rogers, Pizza Hut and KFC, alongside hypermarkets
and department stores.

When Phase Two is ready, the mall will yield a total of 700,000sqf of retail space, with parking for more than 2,000 cars. Its entertainment facilities will include cineplexes, a 32-lane bowling centre,
a skating rink and an exhibition area. There will also be a 700-unit hotelcum-apartment addition next year.
