Dockers goes vintage with K1 chinos
Story 4

DOCKERS SAN FRANCISCO, a brand owned by denim company Levi Strauss & Co, has introduced its limited-edition vintage trousers to celebrate chinos. The K1 Vintage pants have been
designed to target the “khaki connoisseur”, said Levi’s.

The handcrafted product is “made with fabric intricately woven from vintage looms, and reflects
the timelessness of khaki in response to the modern taste of the Dockers man”, said David Smith,
Singapore-based vice-president for the Dockers brand in the Asia-Pacific.

“The Dockers brand practically invented the khaki and casual apparel segment, being the definitive
source for casual yet stylishly comfortable clothing for men. It’s only natural then that, with such a heritage, we now offer the K1 Vintage pants.”

The K1 Vintage Pants carries the tag line “wear your own history”.

Hence, the window display for the apparel, which was unveiled across the Asia-Pacific early last
month, features mock newspaper San Francisco Vintage Times highlighting the evolution of khakis and the heritage of the K1 Vintage Pants. Other props used include antique sewing machines, tailor’s tools, mannequins and vintage furniture.
