CRC buys over Siam Makro’s office-supplies unit in business-boosting move

BANGKOK-BASED Central Retail Corporation (CRC) has bought over office-supplies business Makro Office Centre from Siam Makro, one of Thailand’s leading cash-and-carry groups
for 320 million baht (US$9.615 million).

The move is slated to strengthen the core businesses of both companies. Said CRC’s executive vice-president, Ivor Morton: “The office-supplies business has a total value of more than
90 billion baht, of which about 25% is [transacted] through modern retailers. It has shown healthy growth year on year.”
