Wine&SpiritsAsia2010 comes of age at FHA2010
Story 5 - Preview

Following a stellar performance in 2008, the 17th International Food & Drinks, Hotel, Restaurant,
Bakery & Foodservice Equipment, Supplies & Services Exhibition and Conference with FHA Culinary Challenge — better known as Food&HotelAsia (FHA) — will return to Singapore from April 20-23 next year.

To be held in Singapore Expo, FHA2010 will incorporate the growing and successful Wine&SpiritsAsia2010 (WSA2010) which, for the first time, will have its own dedicated area, consolidating exhibitors of wine and spirits products and services on one show floor.

“This move will enable Asia’s wine and spirits buyers and sellers to meet at an exclusive area for business networking, product sourcing and knowledgegathering activities. Previously, these
specialist exhibitors would be located among other F&B companies across several halls of FHA,” states Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), organiser of FHA and WSA.

“Organising Wine&SpiritsAsia2010 as a dedicated event will add more value to our exhibitors and visitors —facilitating business networking and encouraging larger international interest into
the region’s emergent wine and spirits industry. This strategic move is especially timely and reflects Asia’s growing thirst for wine and spirits,” says Ting Siew Mui, SES’ project director for WSA and FHA.

Citing the International Wine and Spirit Record (IWSR) 2006 Study reported by Wines-info.com on 24 March 2009, SES says: “Asia, with its increasing affluent and discerning population, offers untapped potential for the wine and spirits industry. Imported western spirits is expected to reach 18.4% of the
whole market, or 191,623 million cases by 2010, reflecting a projected growth of 26% since 2004.
