New dates for Bangkok’s Thaifex – World of Food Asia and World of Halal
Story 9 - Preview

THE political unrest in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, combined with the recent    closure of some major airports in Europe due to the volcanic eruptions in Iceland,    have prompted the organisers of Thaifex — World of Food Asia 2010 and the
co-located World of Halal 2010 to reschedule the May events to the end of June
   and early July.

Originally set for May 12-16 at IMPACT Exhibition Centre in Bangkok, the two shows will be postponed to June 30-July 4. These two F&B trade shows are expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors from around the region and beyond. Thaifex is an annual trade show that has been organised by Thailand’s Department of Export Promotion, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, and The Thai Chamber of Commerce since 2004.

Commenting on the rescheduling, Michael Dreyer, vice-president Asia Pacific at Koelnmesse, said: “The difficult decision to reschedule the event was made after much discussion and feedback from the industry. Our purpose, as always, is to ensure that participants’ experience at Thaifex — World of Food Asia is smooth and safe.”
