Fast Retailing rolls out cloud computing platform in stores across the region

FAST RETAILING CO LTD, a Japanese fast-fashion retailer, has deployed the cloud computing platform, Force. com, of US-based enterprise cloud computing company, Salesforce.com, to manage its accounting and human resource systems in its retail stores throughout the region.

The company said in a statement that in line with its objective to “build its structure, organisation and policies” according to its ‘Fast Retailing Way’, the company selected Salesforce’s platform as it allows for customisation later on.

Additionally, the retailer said that it plans to leverage the platform for use on mobile devices in due course.

Said Makoto Toyoda, a company executive at Fast Retailing: “The innovation and scalability of Salesforce. com’s cloud services complements Fast Retailing’s ‘G1 Project’ vision.

“We will utilise Force.com even more in the future as a system to support the strategies of our mid-term management objectives.” ra
