Cartes in Asia 2011 – for businesses looking for smart solutions
Story 3 - Previews

CARTES IN ASIA 2011 returns to Hong Kong on March 29 and 30 after a successful launch last year. The high-profile event, slated to take place again at AsiaWorld-Expo, will see the gathering of the global smart cards, contactless payment and identification industry players in Hong Kong.

Organised by Paris-based Comexposium, Cartes in Asia is the exhibition and conference for professionals in the Asia-Pacific to meet worldwide industry leaders and learn about the latest developments in the smart technologies market. It is an event for all businesses that are looking for smart technologies — from telecoms to banking, IT, transport, security, government and retail industry professionals.

Comexposium is expecting some 4,000 participants at the event with the majority coming from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, India, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Visitors to the exhibition and conference will find new innovations on cards & smart cards; contactless technologies; transactions; payment solutions, e- transactions, personalisation, printers; POS, card readers and terminals; software, applets; components, ICs; digital security identification, authentification; and testing tools and measurements.

Some 170 exhibitors from around the world are expected to be at the Asian Cartes event. Exhibitors that have confirmed their participation include American Express, Atlantic Zeiser, Datacard, Dongguan Xini Smart Card, Gemalto, Giesecke & Devrient, HID, Mantex Enterprises, Oasys Technologies, SCM Microsystems, Shenzhen Kaifa Technology, Shenzhen Xinguodo Technology, Smartmatic, Spectra Technologies and Verifone. The exhibition will also feature China and France pavilions.

As a result of increased demand, the organiser has expanded the exhibition space to two halls and extended the length of the exhibition to two-and-ahalf days after “a very successful first edition in March 2010”.
