Soaring inflation, rising concerns
Part 2: How can Asian retailers steer clear of the hazards? Story 1 - One Viewpoint
Part 1 of this article discussed the grave uncertainties that had abruptly descended upon Asian economies due to looming inflation. Part 2 now looks at the unfolding state of inflation across Asia. It has apparently remained unabated. Some analysts believe it has, in fact, heightened across Asia and it is now trending to the state of core inflation a measure of inflation that excludes those items having volatile price movements, notably energy and food. So it is quite serious now. Considerable hazards obviously threaten Asias consumer markets going forward. For Asian retailers, the big question is how can they successfully navigate their way safely through the clear and present dangers of the current situation.
