Magazines Archives - 2012 July SIAL China 2012 gets double-digit growth in show space, exhibitor & buyer numbers
The event occupied six halls across 73,200sqm of exhibition space, which represented an increase of 25% floor space over last year's show. A total of 37 international pavilions participated at the show, with the top 10 international pavilions being France (74 exhibitors); the US (70); Spain (63); the Taiwan region (50); South Korea (40); Brazil (37); Poland (27); Japan (24); India (20); and Greece (19). The show also attracted exhibitors from 22 provinces and cities across China. "We have new pavilions from Denmark, Belgium, Thailand, South Africa, Canada and Australia at this year's show," Kempe added. In addition, SIAL China featured 13 products zones: Wine & Gourmet; Dairy; Sweets & Snacks; Organic; Tea & Coffee; Halal Food; Meat; Frozen Food; Seafood; Fruit & Vegetable; Chocolate World; Packaging; and Canned & Preserved Food. Within the Wine & Gourmet World Shanghai zone, which also grew 25% over the previous year, nine pavilions were featured including Australia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, South Africa, Spain and the US.
